Familiar Name Among Shorewood Winners

Tom Nachreiner took home the Best of Show award at the Plein Air Shorewood event, and a familiar name nabbed First Place.

“Climbing,” by Shelby Keefe. First Place

Shelby Keefe won First Place for her painting “Climbing.” Keefe won First Place in PleinAir magazine’s 2nd annual Salon Competition in April, earning $15,000 in cash and publication of her painting on the cover of PleinAir magazine. She won $1,000 for her win in Shorewood.

“The Corner Drugstore,” by James Hempel. Second Place

Nachreiner’s winning painting was titled “Shorewood Pizza.” He earned $2,000 for his win. Coincidentally, Nachreiner is the subject of a solo show at Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee, now through November 16.

“Lookin’ for Lunkers,” by Edward Corkery. Third Place

James Hempel won Second Place for his painting “The Corner Drugstore.” Edward Corkery took Third with “Lookin’ for Lunkers,” and Derek Davis won the Quick Draw competition with his painting “River’s Edge.” For more information, visit Plein Air Shorewood’s website.
